Here: A Meditation Retreat on How to Arrive More Fully into the Beauty of Your Imperfect Life
The Barn – East Chatham, NY
Led by Will Duncan
With Amanda Harding and Maria Cutrona
And Local Vegetarian Food by Bobbie Marchand
Thursday November 14 – Sunday November 17
In this training we go deep into the practice of concentration, insight and recalibrating our hearts. Rooted in 2,000 years of authentic Buddhist wisdom practices we explore simple and effective techniques for inhabiting our lives fully in our work, in our relationships and in our day-to-day lives.
Meditation and Meditative are two distinct forms of practice that are often confused as one and the same. When these two basic threads of our practice are confused we can spend years feeling frustrated by our scattered mind and lack of progress in our spiritual lives. When we begin to clearly articulate the different skills and scopes of both of these practices we unlock a new power and vigor in our relational, spiritual, emotional, and intellectual lives.
Appropriate for beginners to advanced practitioners. Join us as we explore:
The foundations of both meditation and meditative practices and tools for thriving in both.
The six basic categories that all meditation practices fall into and an overview of how we develop stability of attention in which ever one we are attracted to.
Meditative practices for learning to relax the mind by inviting the power of play and a spacious heart into our lives.
Vigorous and rejuvenating asana sequences.
Space to unwind and reflect and journal
Time for silence and time for sharing
