Intro to Insight Meditation

What is meditation? The Thai teacher Ajaan Chah once described it as “building a home for the mind.” To a large extent, our minds are often “homeless”: unprotected from anxieties, resentments, and sorrows. The practice of Insight Meditation is one of building a safe home in the mind, using awareness of breath and daily-life practices, so that we can find refuge from our worries and wisdom about our difficulties.

No prior experience or affiliation with Buddhism is necessary to take this course, though we will be discussing the Buddha’s own words on what meditation is and how we can practice it in the middle of our busy lives.
